AMERICAN IDOL
RESULTS RECAP FOR MARCH 31, 2010

Tonight our American Idol Top 10 will be reduced by one contestant as the results of America’s voting is announced. Who will be leaving and how will the results affect the rest of the competition? Will the ‘save’ be used by the judges? Can’t wait to find out so let’s get started!

The special guests tonight include Ruben Studdard, Diddy, and Usher.

We begin the show with season 2 champion, Ruben Studdard performing his hit song “They Don’t Make Them Like You”. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 7 years since he won the title. He has really lost weight since then. Ruben tells us he works out daily and is getting ready to go on tour with Clay Aiken this summer.

“Kung Fu Fighting” is the song of the week for the contestants who are appearing in commercials for Ford. Clips of the music video are shown.

Crystal Bowersox tells the audience that her first time playing the piano was when she was about six years old. Andrew Garcia is asked by Ryan how he felt about being picked on by the judges about his personality. He responds they just don’t know him outside of the competition.

Dim the lights as we get started with the votes!

Lee DeWyze is first up, telling Ryan he feels that last nights performance was good and he is pleased with how he performed. Asking Simon if he sees a potential finalist in Lee, Simon replies, yes, after last night he does and we learn that Lee, you are safe.

Casey James is next being asked by Ryan how he can challenge himself during this competition. He replies he is doing what song he wants to do, tries to do his best. He is the next one safe tonight.

Aaron Kelly is asked if he has ever really been in love, because of the songs he has been singing and the comments that he can’t understand the emotions of the songs as he hasn’t experienced the things he sings about. Aaron replies, no, at age 16, he hasn’t been in love yet. He is safe!

Katie Stevens - American IdolSiobhan Magnus and Katie Stevens are next up.

Siobhan tells us it was hard to hear the judges comments last night, but she is human and is not defeated.

Katie is asked who she is listening to as the judges are divided in their ideas of what type of music she should concentrate on. She said she will take their advice and continue to try to do what is right for her.

Katie Stevens is first to be named to the bottom 3 tonight.

On American Idol, Didi Benami was cut from the top 10. She had some struggles along the way on Idol, but also had some good performances. The song she sang for the jugdes one last time wasFleetwood Mac's, "Rhiannon."

The judges however, didn't save her. Simon did tell her that she did much better than last night.

I think she did really good with the song, and really wish Tim Urban would of been sent home. There is something about him that is just strange to me.

Here is Didi's performance from Tuesday night.
